MY HAIR - Finger Coils

So I tried a new style last week - Finger Coils.
Back in the day my mom used to do them on my hair but we called them drop curl
Why? I don't know but drop curl is what I call them.

I watched ShineStruck's vid and I knew I should have modified how I did it
but I didn't and started from the front on one side.
Tried to do them chunky.
Yeah no. They didn't hold.
The right side turned out great but the left side was puffy so I had to rock my hair in a way
where I didn't look lopsided lol.

Styled with Miss Jessie's Curly Meringue.

I would so try this style again since I got the hang of it on the other side of my head.
I can see this becoming something I do.
Why? I love wearing my hair out and I love the look of it.
Only thing I don't like is I have to wait for it to dry and can't go anywhere while it's setting.

Isn't shrinkage amazing?
This is the day after. I didn't pull them apart so it would last longer.

Ever tried finger coils?

Winter Wash N Go

I have a love affair with wash n gos. I admit it.
The girl who used to loathe them because they just did not look right has now a thing for em.

I love seeing my actual curl pattern(s). This was achieved using Miss Jessie's Curly Meringue as a styler.
I think I may like their stylers for winter wash n gos.. well some.
I used Tresemme Naturals as a leave in ..eh.
I prefer using the Mixed Silk.. hair feels more moisturized.

This was probably day 2/3 after being outside in the wind and rain.
I like to do my wash n go's when its cold outside the day before I plan on rocking it.
So I do it the afternoon before, giving it time to fully dry before heading out.
I apply a leave in and seal with oil before applying the styler.
I applied the Meringue in four sections.

Shrinkage at it's finest!

Back in the day, the shrinkage was too real. I don't even hate shrinkage but the different curls I have in my head.. man I couldn't rock WnGs after awhile. Right when I BC'd? sure. but then my hair grew..
Anyways.. WnG is a style I now rock.

Love wash n gos? Rock them in winter?

Product Alert!!!

Hey Lovelies!
Today is a new day and I've been hopped on coffee (Jamaican Blue Mountain to be exact)
researching my family tree.
Throwback Thursday much?

Anyhoo in between the researching, I was on my social media tip
and saw Elle of A Quest For The Perfect Curl ask if anyone is gonna try Miss Jessie's new product
....
Hold the phone y'all. Miss Jessie's done gone all brand new and made a gel
Jelly Soft Curls

The site says
A man on the moon.  Stay-on lipstick.  Fat-free ice cream.  At one time, all these things seemed impossible, but they all exist now.  Finally, you can add Miss Jessie’s innovative Jelly Soft Curls hair gel to the list of impossible things – now, made possible!  That’s right, Jelly Soft Curls is your next must-have styler because it is specifically designed to leave your curls touchably soft and crunch free while at the same time giving your curls the shine and hold that you love.  Don’t believe it?  Try it!

Nah go lie... I'm curious. I wanna try it. I blame the Pretty in Pink packaging.
I'm still on the quest for wash n go styling products. I can dig their Curly Meringue.
If y'all haven't seen my Compare & Contrast on the Curly Pudding & Curly Meringue from them
Hop over to my YouTube channel & check it out!

I wanna try it. AND it's $14! (special introductory price)
Miss Jessie's must be feeling that Spring Breeze!
I would love to compare this with their Pillow Soft Curls which I have yet to try.

What do you guys think? Anyone interested or does Miss Jessie's get the side eye yet again?
