This Feature is on Valón Thorpe - young photographer out of Kingston Jamaica. 
I've known this guy for sometime now but I was really captivated by his work during his promotion of a party he put on in Jamaica called VIVID alongside Ramona Sirju (photo below of both)

The promotional concept & the eye catching flyers photographed by him was something refreshing. 
This hilarious individual is a talented man & I wanted to do a bit on him so Enjoy =)

3 words you would use to describe yourself.
Driven, Whimsical. Innovative

What do you do?
Well I really am just a final year undergraduate student. I study Geography. And no, my ambition isn't to be a weatherman or a school teacher. Lol. I wanna do GPS work and urban planning but photography is really what I'm passionate about. I like having a vision and making it realistic.


How did you come about photography?
I really used to take pics for fun and use ma phone & do mobile uploads with a liddle pizazz lol. But honestly I just woke up one morning and said "I want to take pictures." because I just felt that I have a different spin on things in my head + I was tired of criticizing people's work not knowing if I could do any better or not.

What inspires you?
I can't even answer that question with one answer. Anything inspires me. If I look at a balloon long enough I can think of different ways to shoot it or incorporate into something I wanna do.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
In 5 years, I will most likely be pioneering some sort of great idea to fruition. If I don't have that fort of 
passion then, most likely I'll be dead inside.

FYI Blogland...

Hey all! Just wanted to let yu guys know I meant what I said about being back.

I have all sorts of things planned for the blog, it all started with the new layout. I wanted something fresh signifying the new chapter in my life.

There will be a lot of collabs with other bloggers so look out for weekly posts coming soon on the arts, fashion, food, etc.
 Even though I no longer reside in Jamaica, I want to promote the Jamaican blogosphere and give views of different Jamaicans wherever they may be in the world so there will be a lot of Jamaican influence on here.

Want to show the world what my country has to offer!

I'm all about supporting people in their craft no matter who they are and where they come from.

I hope you all enjoy what is to come, I'm excited about it so please give feedback on the new content when it hits.

Artiste Spotlight - Conkarah

Wah gwan! As always, I rep for the 876 , the place where my soul resides sweet sweet Jamaica!

I like to highlight the many talented people that the beautiful island has produced. Today's spotlight is on Conkarah (play on Conqueror) An up and coming reggae artiste who works with Lifeline music.. Conkarah is making moves on the music scene. I heard about him when I was in Jamaica in May via Niko Browne who produces and manages Conkarah.

If his dashing good looks aren't enough, this Kingston native has a smooth voice that leaves a mark in your ears. He also has a good check in my book for having UK roots ;)

Daily Fix of Hair - Ah Boom!

Its late over here & I neeed to go to my bed because I have a class at 9 am. I find it more difficult to get out of bed here versus when I was in the States. I blame it on the super duper comfy comforter I bought myself when I got here. Sigh.

Anyhoo...

Since I can't do a chock full of pics post right now cuz that would take a minute that I should be using towards la la land... I thought... why not give like 2 or 3 pics of my hair?

I cut some inches off due to single strand knots (and somehow there are more).. really annoying. I've had thoughts of just cutting off all my hair and calling it a day but I'm not a big fan of my hair short... I do love short hair but I feel I don't carry it off well.

Gone for a minute but now I'm back

HELLO!!!

I'm a horrid being. I left this blog abandoned like an unwanted step child. I apologize.

Life got a lil hectic because of my move.. I'M IN ENGLAND!

I finally made it and it still feel surreal. I've been here for two weeks now and I love it here. Totally different from my norm... verrrryy different. I'm adjusting though & I will keep postin about my time here and all that fun stuff.

I'm going to be here for 3 years completing my Bachelors in Dance. Exciting :)

So yay to new things and experiences!
