I bought a Denman brush. After all this time, I finally got one.
Not sure what model but I got one.
Chock full of pics so peep after the jump
A Christmas gift to myself and I decided to test it out on a wash n go.
I wanted to see its smoothing and curl defining effects for myself so a wash n go is the perf way to do this
wet hair |
I poo'd with the Shea Moisture Moisture Retention Shampoo & applied the Restorative Conditioner to the length of my hair.
I finger detangled with that and rinsed. Followed up with Aphogee Keratin Reconstructor for a lil DC
I finger detangled with the Aphogee on my hair.
I was initially going to use Tresemme Naturals as a leave in but while in the shower applying it and the using the brush, it fell apart! I spent a whole song putting it back together.
So I didn't end up using a proper leave in.
Just coconut oil and Shea Moisture Curl Enhancing Smoothie. I got annoyed and fled the shower.
I'm not overwhelmed by this brush. I had to use it in smaller sections then I normally do my hair which was time consuming. I kept comparing it to my trusty paddle brush that detangles in no time and does a 1/6 of my hair at a time versus an 1/8.

My curls in certain areas were more defined than normal but certain sections seemed to be puffy except the ends.
I chalked this up to me not using a leave in but I don't think so...
following day (fully dry) |
My hair the next day was super duper shrunken!
Not a bad thing as I really wanted that for this wash n go but it looked a bit odd out.
Looks sooo great as a puff though.
texture shot of dry curls |
Also, frizzier than I thought it would be. Clearly I perceived this brush to be magical.
Overall
I could have done without owning it.
I'm not obsessed with defining my curls all the time but the one off wash n go with it isn't bad
but not needed.
The price is cray cray - £8.49
I love my paddle brush lol.
What are your thoughts on the Denman Brush?
I heard a lot about the Denman Brush, but I still have to try it out!
