Refuge & Strength

"But as for me, I will sing about your power. Each morning I will sing with joy about your unfailing love. For you have been my refuge, a place of safety when I am in distress."
- Psalm 59:16 (NLT)

Felt like sharing this on the blog today. Was doing my devotional and this was one of the verses in it The devotional was on praise and thanksgiving.

-an excerpt-
Praise is not optional in a life that wins over worry and doubt. Praise is essential in a journey of faith. It is a demonstration of trust and the acceptance of a circumstance without insisting that God change it. When we choose to praise God, we choose to trust Him. And when we choose to trust God, we will win over worry.

Look man, God just loves to speak to my heart at the right time. ALWAYS!
I cannot deny that He exists, when I pray to Him about things and He responds.
What an awesome God I serve!

So I don't know who will read this and what you are going through, even if you aren't going through anything in particular.. PRAISE HIM!
He will rescue you. He is the same God who delivered the Israelites from Egypt.

So this devotional led me to listen to one of my fav Christian artists, Kristine Alicia.
First I listened to "Unfailing Love" & "Praise Dance" off her album Get Ready
then another song, "Rescue".
Sharing the vid for Rescue here and I pray you'll be blessed by it.
(oh and she just happens to have bomb behind natural hair :)

TeaTime Tidbit

I don't know why but every time I have a cup of tea, I feel as if my senses get going and the neurons in my brain get to racing.

Oh yes, it is called caffeine.
Besides that stimulant, the act of drinking tea makes me feel warm, cozy and gets me to thinking. So I felt inspired to have posts entitled Tea Time Tidbits where I share little nuggets of inspiration & the random going ons in my head.
So brew yourself a cup of whatever you fancy & join me! Comments are always welcome
Cheers!

note: these pics are from January.

The first one is about loving yourself. So cliche but something that needs to be said. Many people out there, women & men, don't love themselves. They have issues with embracing who they are and fully loving all that God gave them. Inside and out.

I figured I would start with the outside. I was checking out Tracee Ellis Ross' website (which is great btw) and she had a wonderful post about breasts. It was about her breasts and the view society has on the way breasts should look. To read click here.
After reading the article, I felt more secure with my breasts. I've always looked at them as not attractive in the nude, that they should be higher up and they look much better in the dark. I didn't really love my boobs. The article was uplifting (no pun intended) because it made me realize God made my boobs, everyone's boobs are different & I should love my boobs!

With that said, love yourself. What you think are imperfections are really what makes you, YOU. Sets you apart from everyone else.

No one is perfect, we're all imperfect so love yourself. You're GREAT!

Ruh Ruh!

Lets face this day with a smirk on our face and scream in the face of worry.
Let us not be caught up in trivial pursuits but in something meaningful.
Let Thursday be your day, the day for something awesome.

-Buy someone lunch.
-Help a person in the library.
-GO TO THE LIBRARY. Check out a book and actually read it.

I know its Finals week or fast approaching that time for a lot of people in college but take some time to breathe and do something fun and different.
Don't overload your brain til it short circuits and your dead on the walk way to class.

Tragic right? Exactly. You're young! Even if you don't think you are because life is promised to no one so to me we are all young. Ripe for the picking in this meadow of Life.

LIVE LIVE LIVE!

Yes that's my foot out of a window. It means step out and be fierce today!
