These tees may have been from the Fall/Winter 2011 Collection of Violette but they are items that can be worn all year round.
Violette is a clothing brand by Vashtie - island gyal who hails from Trinidad, holding it down in NYC who does it all. Blogger, Director, Model.. Girl got it going on.
I love them! Not the price tag (starting at $40) for simple printed tees but I love them because well, they showcase my culture.
My faves are the Ting, Champion, Jamaica flag tee and Bandolero.
For the ladies you can style these tees easily with a pair of denim cutoffs and an eye catching pair of heels.
For the men, chinos or jeans rolled up by the ankle with a pair of loafers or boat shoes and a pair of flattering shades.
If these catch your fancy, you can buy them at Karmaloop.

Darn Fleas!
So there was an American Apparel Flea Market running from October 20-25th in London & I AM JUST FINDING OUT!
Sigh. I own nothing from them because they're so flippin' overpriced but I do like their stuff. I would have had to plan to go down there though cuz train tix are not cheap from Crewe to London town.
The crowds & lines sounded like a nightmare though. Not one for all of that. Then again, there will always be hordes of people for a massive sale especially for a brand like American Apparel.
Maybe next year?

EVERYTHING THRIFTED: Vintage Fashion!
“It is easily overlooked that what is now called vintage was once brand new.”
This is the latest realm of fashion that I have been exploring lately. I live in Gainesville, Florida and it is extremely hard to find authentic vintage pieces here; therefore, I have to settle for vintage-inspired apparel.
What qualifies an item of clothing as vintage? The term vintage is used to describe clothing between 20 and 100 years old, which is clearly representative of the era in which it was produced.
Where can you find authentic vintage pieces? Thrift stores are your best bet! I know there’s a huge stigma associated with these stores, but you can honestly find some fabulous finds there. Also, your mom’s closet can be an amazing source, lol!
Examples of vintage-inspired clothing:
· High-waist shorts/skirts
· Wide-legged pants
· Shoulder pads
· Maxi clothing
· Stripes/Plaid
· Polk-a-dots
· Crochet
· Sheer
· Lace
One of my favorite online vintage fashion bloggers is: http://msvintagevirgin.blogspot.com. She’s absolutely amazing. She has such a wide variety of vintage clothing in her closet!
