Restless City

I'm a huge fan of indie films and Restless City is one I cannot wait to see.
It is an official selection of the 2011 Sundance Film Festival.

"tells the story of an Africa immigrant surviving on the fringes of New York City where music is his passion, life is a hustle, and falling in love is his greatest risk."

Starring Sy Alassane as Djbiri who is the main character
    &&
           Nicole 'Sky' Grey as Trini. 
Nicole is.. Jamaican =) and this is her second film. The first was "Better Mus Come" which I've been hearing is a good film. Another one on my must see list.


Costume Designer for the movie is Mobolaji Dawodu. 
I adore his work.

Artiste Spotlight

My mind is always on Jamaica. I can't help it.
My mind is counting down til the next time I get to plant my feet on its soil which is next month (yay!)

Well here are a couple of shots done by an amazing Jamaican photographer Marlon James.
You'll be seeing a lot more of his work on here.
The subject of the pics is an artiste known as Sezi.

She was born in Jamaica, raised in Trinidad which I didn't know before writing this post but I figured because of how she speaks. It is a beautiful blend of the two accents that I find to be sweet music. She can just talk and I'm good. Her feel is very laid back, chill.. something you curl your toes too and have playing on the stereo while sipping tea.

Finish Line

Bringing yet again, another music vid fix.
This time it is from UK bred Yasmin. New to the scene as an artiste with her first single "On My Own" that debuted this year, this video is for her second single "Finish Line"

I love the look of the video. Her wardrobe is siiiiick. Pair of shoes I saw in it that I would love to cop. Oh and the leading man! He's like a fine mix between Colin Farrel and Heath Ledger. Take and look see at the vid.
